Join us for a unique tutored workshop where you will have the chance to learn, and sketch the human figure and artifacts in the stunning Ashmolean Museum.
It is expected that each participant will produce 2 life drawings and 2 details of the beautiful sculptures and artifacts from the museum.

- Pencils (e.g. HB, 2B, 4B or 6B) - please do NOT bring charcoal, pastels or wet media
- Eraser
- Sharpener

This workshop gives a brief introduction to the fascinating art of wire sculpture. All participants will learn how to bend and bind wire with the outcome of making a small wire bird.
As some dexterity is needed - the wire can be a bit fiddly - please note this workshop is not really suitable for those who have limited movement in their fingers.

Val Hughes has been a teacher of the arts for many years in various art media and enjoys helping others to learn and participate in the joy of creativity. She has studied at a variety of art establishments including the Royal Academy of Art. She is a member of Faringdon Art Society and a regular exhibitor at Oxfordshire Artweeks. Val works predominantly in 2D as a digital painter and 3D using wire and tin to create representations of a range of flora and fauna. Her works have been purchased globally and now reside as far afield as Canada/USA and New Zealand.

- Details of each workshop will be added to this workshops page as all arrangements are confirmed
- Members are given first opportunity to book places in workshops
- If numbers are low, FAS reserves the right to cancel a workshop. All those registered will be refunded the fee (limited to the fee)
- Cancellation: If you cancel your booking within two weeks of a workshop we will endeavour to fill that place. Until we can, no refund will be made. If we can replace you with someone else, a refund (less the small commission Square retains) will be made to you.
- If you have the workshop in your cart / basket or cached a booking may be processed and your card charged after the closing of a workshop. FAS reserves the right to not accept a booking if made after the time of closure. A full refund will be made.
