2014 Children's Art Competition: Gill Campbell Award
This year as part of our celebrations for the 50th Annual FAS Exhibition we have held a competition for pupils of local primary schools. The awards are being made in memory of Gill Campbell who earlier this year, lost her battle with cancer; Gill was our chairperson for 6 years and also worked and volunteered in local schools. The children were set the theme of "Golden" and we were delighted to receive so many different interpretations of the subject. The wonderful art work completed by the children was photographed by the schools and 3 finalists were chosen from the younger group (age 7 and under) and 6 finalists from the older group (age 8-11). The original pieces of work of the finalists have now been judged and winners will be announced soon.
For child protection reasons we are unable to name the artists but would like to thank the children of Faringdon Junior school (150 entries), Stanford in the Vale school (20 entries) and St Hugh's (1 entry).
