MEMBERSHIP
The Society welcomes anyone with an interest in shape, colour, form, movement, texture and the expression of it in paint, ink, pencil, stone, clay, pottery, wood, textile, etc. - whether you are a leisure artist, a professional, or someone that enjoys viewing works of art.
Members are invited to exhibit their work at the FAS Annual Exhibition at the Corn Exchange, and in the Artists’ Galleries on our website. Member makers and crafters have their chance of reaching potential buyers through the Artisan Craft Fairs held in the Summer and early December.
A series of tutored workshops are organised through each year - see workshops for further details. Workshops are open to Members and non-members. Members attend for a reduced price and receive notice of workshops in advance.
There is also an informal Drop In for those who wish to paint or draw in company or who do not have space to do so at home. This takes place on Wednesday mornings during term time at the United Church in Faringdon. These sessions are untutored and people are required to bring their own materials. You do not need to be a Member to attend - everyone is welcome. Please follow the link for up to date details.
Newletters are circulated to all Members through the year, usually around once each two months (dependent on worthy news!).
Facebook is where you will find current discussions and information, as well as where you may post art related info (please keep it relevant). Do make use of this means of communication to let people know of your art or craft activities!
Annual membership begins on 1 February each year, with renewals due by 31 January each following year.
Those joining after the Annual Exhibition will have their membership extended to cover the next year.
Any questions about membership please contact our Membership Secretary, Jan Fennelly: [email protected]
