"Wire Birds" with Val Hughes
Another successful workshop was organised on Tuesday 9th April by our workshop coordinator Isabel. This time it was an opportunity to have a go at some 3D work in creating a 3D wire bird. The tutor was Val Hughes. A great day was had by all learning how to bend, bind and cut wire and then use it to construct a 3D representation. The day started with all learning to cut and bind wire and using these skills to create a 2D flower before moving on to making their 3D bird. A template to assist with shaping was provided along with appropriate tools and materials. Many participants found the process was a little more tricky than it looked with some of the aspects being harder to master than imagined but the day ended with a little flock gathered on the table. Many said how enjoyable the day had been and all participants had something birdlike to take home with them.
