The ever-popular Faringdon Art Society Annual Exhibition is an inspiring and welcoming experience for visitors and an eagerly anticipated opportunity for our local artists to display their talents. “Splendid exhibition, as ever!” Local artists, from beginners to well-known names, exhibit their latest works. These artists are considered for awards and have the opportunity to sell their art creations during the Autumn of each year. Framed and hanging artworks, unframed prints, 3D pieces and printed cards are all sought during the Exhibition. Awards go to one winner and one highly commended artist in each of seven categories, with the overall winner presented with the perpetual Faringdon Art Society Cup. There are also two public voting awards presented at the close of the Exhibition. “Excellent range of artwork and very difficult to choose a favourite.” The Society is proud to provide the opportunity for Members to share their talents with the community in our wonderful, historic Corn Exchange in the Market Square of Faringdon. The next Annual Exhibition will be open for free public entry Friday 25th to Sunday 27th October 2024. Our 2023 Winners

A Brief Overview of Guidelines
- There are seven categories: Watercolour/Gouache; Oil/Acrylic; Mixed Media/Collage; Pastel/Drawing; Other Techniques (e.g. digital art, inks, printmaking); Sculpture; Ceramics/Glasswork/Other 3D artworks (not functional items that are better suited to our Craft Fairs)
- 10 pieces in total may be exhibited: FIVE framed and/or box canvases and/or 3D works + FIVE unframed, flat artwork or prints for browsers - at a small charge for each piece. Greeting cards may also be submitted for free.
- Artworks are to be personally checked in, preferably by the artist, between 10:00am and 11:00am on the Thursday of the Exhibition dates
- Unsold works are to be collected after closure of the Exhibition on the Sunday afternoon, following the awarding of the most popular artist and most popular work. Specific times will be advised at the time of invitation.
- The Society will process all sales on behalf of artists and charge 15% commission on the sale price of all work sold, including cards
- Artists are actively involved in the Exhibition. We are all volunteers making sure we put on a good show! To ensure the smooth running of our Exhibition all Member exhibitors, or their representatives, are to make themselves available for a 2 hour steward slot. This is a good chance to meet and greet those people interested in seeing what you and our Society's artists have been creating...
