Founded in 1964 for all those interested in art in Faringdon and The Vale, Faringdon Art Society (FAS) is run on a 'not for profit' basis and currently has over one hundred members.
The society welcomes anyone with an interest in art, whether two or three dimensional and whether they be a leisure artist, a professional, or just someone that enjoys seeing how artists create their work.
In view of the current situation and the fact many of our members are in the vulnerable group for coronavirus it has been decided to cancel this years AGM and conduct business, without human contact, by email and post.
The reports from each of the members of the committee will be circulated in due course but if members have any comments or suggestions on the exhibition, trips, workshops, drop in or any other area of the FAS, please forward them to email@example.com and I will add your comments to those of the committee and circulate to all members.
SALE OF ART STOCK: Shillbrook the stationery and art shop formerly in Witney and Carterton has recently closed down due to the demise of the high street. Shillbrook was founded by myself 34 years ago. We have a lot of stock to sell, which is currently being sorted etc. We have a shop on eBay, but it is very difficult to put all our stock on there. We were stockists of Daler Rowney, Winsor & Newton, Derwent etc. If you're interested in any of the products we have to sell. Oil, watercolours, acrylics, portfolios, sketch books etc. we would offer a significant discount on our products. Any requirements could be emailed to shillbrook@ btinternet.com. Kind regards Maureen Webb.
